BEIJING, July 25 (Xinhua) -- The following is a summary of published science and technology news of China.

PROPYLENE PRODUCTION

Chinese researchers have developed a new method of sieving propylene from propane, promising to improve the efficiency of propylene production.

Traditional industrial technology of sieving propylene from propane usually comes at a cost of high investment in equipment and huge energy consumption.

Researchers at Jinan University developed a new method using orthogonal-array dynamic molecular sieving, which is energy-saving and will greatly improve production efficiency.

CLEAN ENERGY

China's first ultra high-voltage (UHV) power superhighway for transmitting clean energy delivered 13.1 billion kWh of power from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, abundant in energy resources, to densely populated Henan in central China, according to State Grid's Qinghai branch.

As the world's first all-clean energy UHV power transmission project, the 800-kilovolt direct current transmission line became operational on July 15, 2020. It extends 1,563 km across four provinces.

It is a pilot project aiding China's pursuit of attaining carbon dioxide emissions peak before 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality before 2060.

SCI-TECH INNOVATION IPO

China's securities regulator has approved the initial public offerings (IPOs) of two companies on the science and technology innovation board.

Kunshan GuoLi Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. and Wayz Intelligent Manufacturing Technology Co., Ltd. will be listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange's sci-tech innovation board, commonly known as the STAR market, according to the China Securities Regulatory Commission.
