NEW YORK, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks traded sharply higher on Tuesday with the Dow surpassing the 30,000 mark for the first time, as market rally extended on Wall Street.
Around midday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 483.73 points, or 1.63 percent, to 30,075.00. The S&P 500 increased 53.95 points, or 1.51 percent, to 3,631.54. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 112.51 points, or 0.95 percent, to 11,993.14.
All the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors rallied, with energy up 4.8 percent, leading the gains.
On Monday, U.S. equities closed higher with the Dow up more than 300 points.
