Georgetown transfer Mac McClung said he received his NCAA waiver to play for Texas Tech this season.
"Waiver granted !!! Wreck em !!!!" the junior guard posted Friday on Instagram.
The Red Raiders appeared to confirm the news by tweeting a GIF of McClung wearing a No. 0 Texas Tech jersey.
McClung, whose leaping ability and thunderous dunks have earned him a large social media following, announced his decision to transfer to the Big 12 school in Lubbock in May. He chose Texas Tech over Southern California, Auburn, Memphis, Wake Forest, Arkansas and BYU.
The 6-foot-2, high-energy player saw action in 21 games for the Hoyas during his sophomore season in 2019-20 before he was sidelined by a foot injury. He averaged 15.7 points per game with 2.4 assists.
In two seasons at Georgetown, McClung played in 50 games (49 starts), averaging 14.2 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists.
The native of Gate City, Va., broke Allen Iverson's single-season state high school scoring record in 2018 and scored 2,801 points in his high school career.
McClung has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
