Airline passenger capacity rises in Dubai

Dubai airport’s capacity has increased to 50 million passengers, according to Gulf News.
Paul Griffiths, the chief executive of Dubai International Airport, told the newspaper the airport had to expand due to an annual growth rate of 11 percent.
He said the airport would probably have to take more than 50 million passengers this year, due to their being another 22 new routes started by airlines.
He said the new routes had been opened by airline companies that only began operating from the airport last year, including Indonesian airline Garuda, Air Berlin, Kingfisher and China Eastern.
