US Computer firm, Dell Inc, has said it will likely take over data-storage company 3PAR.

In a move to cut its data management costs Dell has agreed to acquire the company for $1.15 billion.

Dell made the offer to buy all of the outstanding common stock of 3PAR for $18 a share in cash; an 86.5% premium to 3PAR’s closing price on Friday of $9.65.

Dell has been offering clients storage space since 2008 when it acquired data-storage company Equal Logic.

It also has a long term partnership with storage network firm EMC.
