A numbers of personal items from the estate of Elvis Presley are being put up for auction, including his white grand piano, a Triumph TR-6 Convertible car, his gold-framed sunglasses, an address book, a target pistol and his diamond ring.

His possessions will be auctioned in his home town of Memphis, Tennessee next month.

Plans to auction the surgical instruments used to conduct the autopsy of Presley were scrapped this week when doubts arose about their ownership and authenticity.

Rubber gloves, forceps, lip brushes, a comb, eye liner, needle injectors and a toe tag, were to have gone on sale on August 12th.

The instruments were said to have been saved for years by a retired embalmer at the Memphis Funeral Home where the body of Elvis was prepared.

The operator of the funeral home has now lain a claim to them.

Elvis died in August 1977.
