After pigs, Gurgaon shows stray cattle the door to pen

After pigs, stray cattle in Gurgaon could soon find it difficult to roam around freely in this Haryana's city adjoining the national capital.

Gurgaon's municipal corporation has decided to launch a campaign from Jan 26 next year to catch stray cattle in the city and house them at a huge 'gaushala' (cow shelter) in Katarpuri village of Gurgaon district, officials said Tuesday.

The municipal corporation has already launched a campaign to catch stray pigs in the city.

Gurgaon Municipal Commissioner Rajesh Khullar said that the campaign against stray pigs and cattle was being undertaken to rid the city roads and other areas of the traffic hurdles and other problems posed by these animals.
