McCain asks campaign staff to keep calm over Palin book

Calcutta News.Net

John McCain has spoken to his former presidential campaign managers about their responses to claims made by his former running mate Sarah Palin in her new book.

Mr McCain asked the former staffers to avoid engaging in a slanging match with Ms Palin when she goes on a media tour to promote the book: "Going Rogue."

Senator McCain has had a conference with former helpers to say any negative comments by Ms Palin will simply pass away and he was sorry they were in the middle of her attacks.

Palin's book, in part, is critical of the McCain team, especially campaign manager Steve Schmidt and senior adviser Nicole Wallace over the overall media strategy that was created for her during her run as vice-presidential candidate.

McCain has accepted his old team will feel a need to defend themselves, but has asked for an considered approach to the Palin accusations.
