German student takes a knife to fellow pupils

A student at a secondary school in the German federal state of Bavaria has injured nine people with an axe and two Molotov cocktails.

Some of the victims are seriously injured, with one girl in a critical condition.

The 18-year-old student at the Carolinum Gymnasium in the town of Ansbach was shot at by the police before being arrested.

German media reports have said the suspect does not have criminal record, but has been under psychiatric care over a long period.

Reports have mentioned letters found in the boy’s room which point to a coming apocalypse.

Earlier this year, in March, a 17-year-old German student killed 15 people in and near his school in the town of Winnenden.
