Security forces kill 2 militants in Kashmir

Two militants were killed and two soldiers wounded in an ongoing gunbattle in the Wedder Bala forest area of Kupwara district in north Kashmir, police said Saturday.
Security forces surrounded the forest Friday on getting specific information about the presence of militants.
'While searching the forest, troops came under fire from hiding militants. They retaliated, triggering a gunbattle. So far, two militants have been killed,' a police officer said.
Two soldiers injured in the gunfight have been taken to hospital.
The police officer said arms and ammunition have also been recovered from the site. Email this story to a friend
