World Bank promotes Internet use

The keys to economic growth in developing countries are the mobile phone and high speed Internet.
A World Bank report has found that every time high speed Internet connections increase by ten percent, there is a resultant 1.3 percent increase in economic growth.
The report pointed out that broadband Internet created youth employment, expanded productivity and promoted social inclusion.
The bank also said mobile phones had proven to be the single most powerful way to reach and deliver services to people in remote areas in developing countries.  Email this story to a friend
