Melamine found in Chinese biscuits for export

Calcutta News.Net
Tuesday 30th December, 2008

The chemical melamine has been found in Chinese biscuits.

In a continuation of the scandal that has tainted the Chinese food industry, more than 1,500 boxes of Chinese biscuits have been found to contain melamine

The biscuits were going to Hong Kong and Singapore.

Before the product had left a warehouse in Guandong, inspectors found the melamine, which they say came from milk powder.

Melamine is an industrial compound used in making plastics.

This year, a series of food- and product-safety scares led to recalls of Chinese-made dairy products which contained the same chemical.

Melamine found in Chinese biscuits for export

Would it be possible for us to have China clearly label there products, especially food, until we can trust them?

Label products. Good try. Easy to put any label. And someone will. Money is everything.

The solution

Tightened the loose product regulation and inspection in China. China need more big brother intervention rather than less. Chinese are having too much freedom in area that infringe on other’s life.
