Thai international airport re-opens
Calcutta News.Net Wednesday 3rd December, 2008
Thailand's main Suvarnabhumi International Airport has been given back to Thai authorities after an eight-day siege.
Protest leaders made a ceremony of the handover on Wednesday morning, telling Army leader, Major General Chamlong, that demonstrators would start to leave.
Demonstrators streamed out of the airport shortly after the 10:00am deadline which had been set by leaders of the anti-government group.
The administrator of the airport, Airports of Thailand, has issued a statement to say flights will be resumed on the evening of the 4th December.
