Militants and civilians caught up in gun battle

Calcutta News.Net
Thursday 9th October, 2008

At least 36 Islamic militants have been killed in clashes with security forces in Afghanistan.

The clashes centred on villages in central Uruzgan province, where Afghan and international troops were on patrol.

Coalition officials have claimed 10 civilians also died in rebel gunfire after troops were attacked with guns, mortars and rocket-propelled grenades.

The civilians were apparently killed when a rocket aimed at troops missed its target, instead hitting a home, killing the civilians, including women and children.

The coalition said three women and six children were taken to a military hospital for treatment for injuries from the attack.

proceeds from the drug trade, what else? Those that manufacture weapons and ammo have never heard of filthy lucre, for as long as they can take it to the bank!
