Skoda sales up 22.6 percent in August in India

Skoda India, the fully-owned subsidiary of Skoda Auto of the Czek Republic, Monday reported a 22.6 percent growth in car sales August.

The company said in a statement that it sold 1,103 units last month, as compared to 900 units in the same period last year, recording a 22.6 percent growth.

The Skoda Fabia model recorded sales of 564 units.

Skoda India has been operating in the country since November 2001 as a subsidiary of Europe-based Volkswagen Group.
