Police to study viscera of dead girl student
Calcutta News.Net Friday 29th August, 2008 (IANS)
New Delhi, Aug 29(IANS) Delhi Police have requested for permission to conduct a viscera test on the teenaged girl student who died after jumping from the fifth floor of her school hostel on Wednesday.
The police have failed to make any headway in the death of 16-year-old Pushpanjali Raj, a student of Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram.
However, police sources said, "Initial investigation point it out to be a case of suicide."
The police are waiting for the postmortem report of the victim and refraining from making any early conclusion.
"The police have requested for permission to conduct a viscera test on the deceased. The police do not want to leave anything to chance and we are probing all angles," the sources added.
"The time between discovery of the body and the time of death can also throw some light on the case. The time gap is important and if was long, then it is certainly questionable," the sources further said.
Asked about any suspicious development in the case, a senior police officer said, "Nothing suspicious has emerged so far and suicide is the most strong line of investigation, but the reason for that needs to be established."
"Even the girl's personal diary has not revealed anything much. There is no concrete evidence to support that she was under depression," the police officer added.
The victim's diary had details regarding her daily routine and her interactions with others.
