Inter-state automobile lifters gang busted in Uttar Pradesh

An inter-state gang of automobile lifters was busted with the arrest of two people in Uttar Pradesh, the police said Saturday.
Hasrat and Jabir were arrested near the Barkhandi crossing in Muzaffarnagar district, some 430 km from here, while they were going to finalise a business deal, police said.
'The two used to operate in Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh,' police officer Brij Pal Singh told IANS.
The duo along with their aides used to lift vehicles and later by making false registration documents of the vehicles, they would sell them in different states, he added.
Hasrat and Jabir, who are being interrogated, were allegedly operating the racket for the last seven years, police added.
Five Maruti cars and a tractor have been recovered from their hideout on Jhingana road in Muzaffarnagr district.
