Uttar Pradesh to reward sports coaches

The Uttar Pradesh government will now reward coaches of sports persons faring well in national and international events, sources in the state's sports' directorate said Wednesday.
'A prize money ranging from Rs. 7,500 to Rs 500,000 will be given to coaches depending upon their seniority and the level of the sporting events in which their trainees perform,' a source said.
Poonam Lata, a sports officer with the directorate, told IANS: 'Till now there was no policy to reward coaches. Only the sports persons hogged the limelight,'
'The new policy will definitely boost the morale of the coaches, who will now work with more dedication to produce good sports persons.' she added.
