Saudi king asks for religious reconcilliation
Calcutta News.Net Wednesday 16th July, 2008
At an interfaith conference, King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia has exhorted followers of the world's leading religions to shun extremism and embrace reconciliation.
King Abdullah's comments came at the start of a Saudi-sponsored gathering in Spain, that aims to bring Muslims, Christians and Jews closer together.
King Abdullah said that history's great conflicts were not caused by religion itself but by its misinterpretation.
He said: 'The tragedies we have experienced throughout history were not the fault of religion but because of the extremism that has been adopted by some followers of all the religions, and of all political systems.'
The Saudis have billed the gathering as strictly religious, with no political leanings.
The three-day Madrid conference will also hear a number of Jewish religious figures, including David Rosen, a prominent Irish-Israeli rabbi and
Rabbi David Weiss, who objects to the creation of Israel on the grounds that it violates Jewish religious law.

Saudi king asks for religious reconcilliation
This is the way forward, through learning that we are all brothers in the eyes of God and regardless of which religion we belong to, we all find that the same Sun shines on us all. Thank you King Adbullah for your wise words. The world is growing smaller everyday and we must learn to respect each other regardless of which path we choose to God.

extremism?
This is the height of self-parody and hipocracy on the part of the Royal family. Saudi Arabia is one of the most extreme of all; are non-Muslims welcome in Mecca?

The step to recovery requires a willingness to heal
There are many examples of madness in our history and really? All the past can do, is serve us a lesson in the consequences of such beliefs and or action.. Let us wake up to the reality that The Past is gone, we can not change it! What we can do is Stop, look, listen, feel the pain and Learn what works and what does not.. Please Think, to Stop and unchain ourselves from the chains of the past so that we can leave behind the caveman and make a new future which is based on a vision for a better future, free to make new discoveries..

Inclusive thought process is not the Saudis best behavior
So does this mean I can see the black rock in Mecca and avoid this sign?

Humans are tired in the concept of god.
It is a childish attempt to unite the world through an illusion. Muslims have problems between the holy shites and the holier sunnis who have been slaughtering each other like there is no tomorrow. Religion is too hollow to have any substance to hold running water.

father,son and holy ghost
I can accept any religion in the world that does not try to remove God’s centerpiece and the fact that he himself came to live with man as the messiah, being JESUS the christ.

Separation between religion and state
If man does not realize that there should be a separation between religion and state in this planet, there will never be world peace.
No religion, must be imposed upon people, people should be free to worship as they please.
Governments must have the supreme authority which is delegated to them by the people through their vote, and the people should control always their government, through their vote.
No goverment official should have dictatorial power, and no man is superior over another man, because we are all created equal.
Each man must observe the laws, and no one is excempt, not even those who are elected to rule through the delegated power that the people have given him for his temporary tenure of office, because such man must be responsible to the people that elected him for his actions.
In this planet there are no Very Important People (VIP) because we are all equal regardless of our financial standing, but unfortunately this is not being observed, and many think that with their wealth, and influence, or political experiece, they break, or make laws in their favor, to mantain to practice their evil upon their fellow man.
Sammy, who lives in his dreamworld, hoping for a better society to evolve.

Crazy
The self parody and hipocracy on the part of the Royal family is very big . Saudi Arabia is one of the most extreme money supliers for extremism and terrorism in the world. The point is that Christians are still not welcome in Mecca. U even risk jail if u dare.
