Chandrababu Naidu in touch with UNPA leaders

With the United National Progressive Alliance (UNPA) heading for a split over the India-US nuclear deal, Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu was Saturday busy holding consultations with leaders of the alliance's constituents.
Naidu, who is away in north coastal Andhra as part of his ongoing state-wide 'yatra', got in touch with Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) president Omprakash Chautala and other leaders.
Sources in the TDP said the former chief minister was busy holding talks with UNPA leaders over phone from the bus he is travelling in as part of the 'yatra'.
This followed a reported statement by Chautala in Delhi that the Samajwadi Party (SP)parted ways with the UNPA after its leaders met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi to back the India-US nuclear deal.
The sources said Naidu would react only after the SP makes its stand clear on supporting the Congress-led UPA government.
However, senior party leader and party politburo member Y. Ramakrishnudu told newsmen in Rajahmundry that even if the SP joins hands with the Congress, it would have no impact on the TDP.
Naidu had left for Delhi Thursday in the midst of his 75-day-old 'yatra' to meet SP president Mulayam Singh Yadav and other leaders of the UNPA. He returned Friday.
