Top forensic doctor to be acting director of AIIMS

Top forensic doctor T.D. Dogra will be acting director of the All India Institute of Medical Science after cardiac surgeon P. Venugopal retires from the post July 2.
"The hunt for a new director is still on. Dr. Dogra will be the acting director till a fresh candidate is selected," said Shailesh Kumar Yadav, deputy director administration of AIIMS.
"We have already issued the notification about Dr. Dogra taking over the office till a final arrangement is in place. We have also advertised, inviting applications for the post of director. The last date is July 10," Yadav told IANS.
For the first time, AIIMS authorities have inbvited applications from NRIs for the dierctor's post.
The Supreme Court reinstated Venugopal May 8 ater the health ministry removed Venugopal from the post of the director nearly seven months ago.
Venugopal has been at loggerheads with Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss, who is also the president of AIIMS.
The AIIMS is the best government medical college and research centre in the country and treats nearly 8,000 patients every day.
