Unity bags two Haryana infrastructure projects

Civil construction major Unity Infraprojects Limited has secured contracts worth Rs.3.83 billion from Haryana State Roads and Bridges Development Corporation ltd (HSRDC), the company said Tuesday.

The company informed media that it will be widening and upgrading the state highways (SH-20) bordering Delhi in 15 months. The project cost is Rs.1.42 billion.

In another project valued at Rs.2.40 billion, Unity Infraprojects along with Backbone Enterprises Ltd will jointly execute widening, strengthening of drains, culverts and bridges in areas falling under Murthal-Sonepat-Sampla-Jhajjar-Dadri Road (section of SH-20) and Gurgaon-Farrukhnagar-Jhajjar Road (SH-15 A). The time frame for the project is 18 months.

The company claimed that with these, Unity has clinched orders worth Rs.6.05 billion in May alone and it is the first time that the firm is tackling state road projects.

Last week, Unity bagged a contract from PWD Building Project Division B-121 Prison Complex Mandoli, Delhi, for an estimated Rs.1.54 billion.

The company is currently executing 10 malls in Maharashtra, of which five are with the company and the other five include Magarpatta Retail Pvt Ltd, India Bulls, Big Malls, Avinash Bhoslen Group, and Phoenix Mills.

Unity's managing director and vice-president Abhijit Avarsekar said the company is now planning to enter infrastructure projects in irrigation and water supply sectors.
