No songs in Manish Acharya's next film
Calcutta News.Net Sunday 11th May, 2008 (IANS)
After his US-based satire, 'The Loins Of Punjab Presents' that had 40 songs, Manish Acharya's next film will be songless.
Set in Mumbai and Tokyo, the comic thriller will be in Hindi.
'To me the greatest excitement is not having songs in the film. After 40 songs in my last film, it is quite a break. My comic thriller may have music and songs in the background like 'Johnny Gaddar', but the characters aren't going to stop in their tracks to sing songs,' Acharya told IANS.
Acharya also says it is time to return home.
''The Loins Of Punjab Presents' went further than I expected. Now it's time to return home. I'm making my next film out of Mumbai. And it is a comic thriller set in two cities. The language this time would be purely Hindi and as pure as it can get.' His previous film was in English.
Acharya wants one of the A-list Khans to play the lead in the film.
