Separatist guerrillas dragged out a village headman from his home and slit his throat in north Kashmir, police said Saturday.

The police said the insurgents entered the house of Abdul Majid Paswal, 40, the headman of Doban Khirhama village in Kupwara, 150 km from here, Friday night and forced him out of his house.

'The militants, who were four in number according to eye-witnesses, took Majid out of his home and later slit his throat,' a senior police officer told IANS on phone from Kupwara.
