Tax payers pleased with Ethiopia
Calcutta News.Net Monday 3rd December, 2007
Ethiopia has been given a high ranking as being one of the best 30 nations in making tax payments easier.
Against 178 world economies, Ethiopia ranked at 29 in the World Bank's latest report on ease of paying taxes.
In the freshly released report, Ethiopia beat a number of both developed and developing countries such as the United States, Sweden, Korea, South Africa, Kenya and China in ease of tax payments.
This ease of tax payments refers to the taxes and mandatory contributions that a medium-size company must deal with, as well as measures of administrative burden in paying taxes.
This year the top 10 economies for ease of paying taxes are Maldives, Singapore, Hong Kong, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Ireland, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, New Zealand, and Kiribati respectively.
The most difficult economies are Panama, Jamaica, Mauritania, Bolivia, the Gambia, Venezuela, the Central African Republic, the Republic of Congo, Ukraine, and Belarus.

This is not a surprise! The Government of Meles is becoming so rich and powerful by collectig taxes blindly with no trickling down effect on the lives of the general public...It will do everything possible to make sure that the flow of money into its coffen is as continous and as easy as it is possible..Afterall,money from the tax payers is used to silence oppositions and pay for the millitary personnels who are being sent to fight a war that is meaningless...(As I see it)How easy it is to pay tax does not show anything positive, a measure of how that revnue is chanelled into improving the lives of the ordinary people is more sgnificant...So,I see no reason to celebrate!!!

I'm really pleased
It is true things are going well. The government is doing some interesting moves to attract investiment from both outside and inside. This may be helpfull for the development of the country. We hope such improvements will also applied to other service areas.

Tax payers pleased with Ethiopia
Not so fast, the Ethiopian government is doing this for companies who are foreigners not for Ethiopians who gets taxed 300% except from the TPLF area.TPLF (weyane) is a group that dehumanizes and dictates the people of Ethiopia, there is a documented case following the 2005 election when the TPLF government went on a rampage killing 193 people on a day light in Addis Abeba for asking to have their vote respected. Now tell me why a poor country like Ethiopia have to pleas tax payers?
