Honda builds up hydrogen future

The Honda Motor Company has said hydrogen fuel cell cars have a bright future and their mass production may happen within a decade.

Takeo Fukui, the president of Honda said there would be no future for the auto industry without fuel cell cars.

Japanese vehicle makers have achieved major success by pioneering eco-friendly cars, including hybrids, which have especially appealed to U.S consumers at a time of high oil prices.

Fuel cells produce electricity through a chemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen, leaving water as the only by-product.
