Girl dies, five injured in Srinagar blaze

A seven-year-old girl died of burn injuries and five others were admitted to hospital in a critical condition after a fire in Srinagar Wednesday morning, police said.

Seven-year-old Naureen died and five others were admitted to hospital after a fire in the Basant Bagh area of the city that gutted four houses, an officer said.

While the police said the cause of fire was being investigated, some locals maintained the blaze had started due to a leaking cooking gas cylinder.
